Message from the Chair – Oct 2021

Thank you to everyone who turned out at the crack of dawn to support our Wanchai Gap 5k race this month, whether you were running or volunteering. Full results and prize winners can be found on the AVOHK website and on our Facebook page. There is also a fantastic video on our Facebook page, which was produced by Henry Russell, 11, who managed to capture everyone’s finish and made it all look so easy!

Dave Smith and Catherine Leonard, our race directors, are now hard at work on our proposal for the China Coast Marathon. Sadly, we had to cancel plans for the 2021 race but we are very hopeful that it can return in January 2022. It will almost certainly be a smaller event than previous editions but we are doing everything that we can to make it happen. Details will be emailed to members and posted on our website.

Finally, good luck to everyone who is running in the Standard Chartered races at the weekend. I hope to see lots of AVOHK vests out on the course!
